Privacy policy

World Development Movement (WDM) is committed to maintaining all personal data on our members and supporters in a secure manner which meets the requirements of the Data Protection Act (1998). All data on supporters who either donate to us or take part in our campaign actions is held so that we can communicate effectively with our supporter base.

Donations

All credit card donations made to WDM use the Secpay processing system which is operated by Paypoint.net. This offers a safe and secure way of processing payments online. 

All direct debits set up on WDM’s website are processed by RSM2000, an electronic payment provider which offers a secure system of processing these payments to organisations. 

Mailing list

Our e-news updates and e-bulletins are received by anyone who has provided their email address and opted in to receive emails from us. To unsubscribe from our mailing list you can click the unsubscribe button at the bottom of one of our emails, visit the unsubscribe link or contact us by email on supporterservices@wdm.org.uk.

Data accuracy

WDM endeavours to keep the data which we hold as up to date and accurate as possible. If you are on our database and any of your details change, please contact us at any time to update this information. Please also get in contact if you have any further questions on our data protection policy.

Opting out of communications

If you have signed up to WDM and receive mailings, emails or phone calls from us, you can opt out of these communications at any time. 

We do occasionally allow carefully selected organisations to contact our supporters. As a supporter of WDM you can opt out of receiving these communications from third parties.

Google Analytics Collects information about how visitors use our site. We use this to create reports on site visitors, where they came from, what they saw, how long they spent and which content they saw and which actions they took.
Drupal Session ID Collects information about site visitors (IP address and date) so that we can ensure continuity throughout the site.
Get Clicky Collects information about how visitors use our site. We use this to create report on site visitors, where they came from, what they saw, how long they spent and which content they saw and which actions they took.
AddThis We use the AddThis toolbar plugin to enable users to share content. AddThis’ privacy policy states that: All web sites, including those with AddThis installed, receive information such as which web page you came from, which type of browser you are using, and your general geographic location. When you and others use our tools to share content, we aggregate data about what pages are shared, when, and how. We also assign your web browser a unique identifier. This ID doesn't, and can't, say anything about you, it's just a random series of numbers and letters we use to distinguish users from each other.
