Email DfID on climate debt in Bangladesh. Your emails are already having an effect.
Instead of the UK government repaying its climate debt, it proposes taking money from its existing aid budget, channeling it through the untrustworty World Bank. DfID officials in Bangladesh have now met with Bangladeshi campaigners citing correspondence from people in the UK about the issue.
Respond to the government announcing that they will not rule out new dirty coal in the UK. New coal power stations will be allowed to go ahead with only a fraction of their emissions subject to carbon capture and storage (CCS), a technology which is still unproven in this context.
