In an era when direct action is yet again becoming an important part of the activist toolbox, the film Just Do It attempts to open the lid on this often covert form of protest.

Climate activism hit the headlines in 2006 when The Camp for Climate Action’s first action was to squat next to the site of the UK’s largest single emitter of carbon dioxide, the Drax coal power station.  Realising the importance with engaging in such a bold attempt to challenge the corporate energy and finance lobby, World Development Movement has been involved in these camps since 2007. At the Heathrow, Kingsnorth and Blackheath camps, WDM was involved through facilitating climate and global justice workshops and showing footage of climate action meetings in Bangkok.

For an entire year Emily, the award winning film maker, submerged herself in documenting environmental activists’ secret plans, getting to know and understand their motivation and their passion.  The film, the first ever insight into the lives of activists, is set to be an inspirational and entertaining documentary that will be a must watch for any WDM activist.
