Ecotricity

Use your electricity bill to fight climate change - Switch your energy supply to Ecotricity and WDM will receive a donation of up to £60

Wind turbines

Ecotricity is different from other energy suppliers. Their mission is to change the way electricity is made, using the money their customers spend on gas and electricity to build new sources of renewable energy such as windmills. No one else will invest more of your bills in new sources of green energy.

People power is at the heart of what Ecotricity does. The more customers they have, the more green energy they can generate. They also promise to match the standard tariff of the ‘big six’ energy suppliers, so you won’t pay any extra for going green.

It’s free and easy to switch, simply go to www.ecotricity.co.uk/wdm or call 08000 302 302 and quote ‘WDM’.

If you would like more information about our partnership, or would like to promote Ecotricity to your friends or family please contact Kathryn on 020 7820 4900 or email kathryn.excell@wdm.org.uk.

Sponsored events

Doing a sponsored event is a great way to support WDM and win positive change for the world's poor while having the time of your life. We have arranged some events you can take part in or you can organise your own.

Arrange your own event

In previous years, WDM supporters have run in the London Marathon and raced the London Triathlon to raise money for WDM. If that sounds a bit too energetic why not organise a charity dinner party, have a coffee morning, cake sale or hold a pub quiz?

Whatever you want to do, WDM can help you along the way with fundraising advice and tips about how to publicise your event.

For more information on these events or to tell us about your own event, call us on 0800 328 2153 or use the contact form below.

Leave the gift of lasting change

Please consider WDM when making or changing your Will

By leaving a gift in your Will you can extend the support you have given WDM during your lifetime. You will also help us to continue fighting for a fairer future and move us closer to achieving justice for the world’s poor.

When you make or change your Will, after you've made provisions for your family and friends, please consider making a contribution to the World Development Movement.

WDM has delivered real change for 40 years and we couldn’t have done it without you. Leaving a gift in your Will is a great way to help the next generation of activists fight poverty and injustice. We understand that this is a very personal decision, if you would like to discuss it further please contact Kathryn on kathryn.excell@wdm.org.uk or by calling 0207 820 4900

The Tanners looking at the camera

We've campaigned most of our lives for justice for the world's poor. So it makes sense to leave money in our Wills to the World Development Movement. Our children are already well established and this is such a good cause. We are hugely encouraged that the campaign we joined way back in the 1970s to end world poverty has made such progress and is now stronger than ever.

We have been lucky to be able to buy our own house. When we die we'd like to think that WDM will be helped by a significant donation from our estate. The need for an effective campaigning organisation to tackle global poverty and injustice seems certain to outlive us. We hope others of our generation will leave a legacy to the World Development Movement too.""

Give in memory or celebration

Encourage friends and family members to make a donation to WDM in memory of a loved one who valued our work. In this way, you can commemorate someone's life whilst helping WDM make a difference to the lives of the world's poorest people.

Or if you are celebrating a birthday, wedding, anniversary or any other occasion why not encourage friends and family to donate to WDM instead of buying you gifts.

How to organise these types of donations

WDM will provide special cards to distribute to your family and friends to explain how they can donate to us. We can also provide leaflets which explain more about WDM's work in winning justice for the world's poor.

For more information about In Tribute or In Celebration donations, please call us on 0800 328 2153 or contact us online.
