Welcome to the World Development Movement (WDM)

Kirsty Smith, MRDF Director MRDF is proud to support the World Development Movement in its work campaigning against the injustices in the world. Only through achieving these structural changes will the work of MRDF's overseas partners become truly sustainable, and a better world made possible.
Kirsty Smith, MRDF Director

WDM is extremely grateful to be a long-term beneficiary of the Methodist Relief and Development Fund (MRDF). MRDF is an expression of one of the key aims of the Methodist church: to encourage members to be a good neighbour to people in need and to challenge injustice. MRDF makes small miracles possible for people living in the world's poorest communities through long term development, emergency relief and campaigning against the causes of poverty.

WDM was set up in 1970 as the campaigning body for various church groups and aid agencies. Working in solidarity with various partner organisations in developing countries, we aim to change the policies of governments and international institutions, so that they promote, rather than undermine, real solutions to global poverty. WDM has become a secular organisation but retains close links with the Anglican Church, the Methodist Church, the United Reformed Church and other religious bodies.
