Welcome to the World Development Movement (WDM)

The people of the lesser developed countries has suffered so much. There are those who have tried to change this. I give thanks to WDM and its work.![]()
Archbishop Desmond Tutu
WDM is proud of its long association with members of the Church of England congregation who see working alongside WDM as a crucial way of expressing their sense of mission.
WDM was set up in 1970 as the campaigning body for various church groups and aid agencies. Working in solidarity with various partner organisations in developing countries, we aim to change the policies of governments and international institutions, so that they promote, rather than undermine, real solutions to global poverty. WDM has become a secular organisation but retains close links with the Anglican Church, the Methodist Church, the United Reformed Church and other religious bodies.
